The Bubble Chamber

The Bubble Chamber

This is the side of the BEBC (Big European Bubble Chamber). Bubble Chambers were machines used to identify elementary particles from 1950 to the 80s. This one is exposed in the park of the CERN.
Friday’s shot was also a part of the BEBC.
The BEBC weight is 26 tons and it was filled with 30 cube-meters of liquefied gas in which were recorded interactions between elementary particles from 1973 until 1984.
