This photo of a man wearing a suit near the sea, with a bike (wich I'm not sure is his) and looking at the sea, immediately made me think of this title.

Of all the dances seen on Bali today, the Kecak dance is perhaps the most dramatic. Taken from the Hindu epic Ramayana, the dance tells the story of Prince Rama and his rescue of Princess Sita, who has been kidnapped by the evil King of Lanka. Unlike other dances, there is no gamelan orchestra accompanying it. Instead, a troupe of over 100 bare-chested men serve as the chorus, making a wondrous cacophany of synchronized "chak-achak-achak" clicking sounds while swaying their bodies and waving their hands.

De toutes les dances pratiquées à Bali de nos jours, le Kecak est peut-être la plus dramatique. Tirée du Ramayana hindou, la danse raconte l'histoire du Prince Rama et de son sauvetage de la Princesse Sita, qui a été kidnappée par le méchant Roi de Lanka. Contrairement aux autres danses balinaises, il n'y a pas d'orchestre Gamelan qui l'accompagne. A l'inverse, une troupe de plus d'une centaine d'hommes torses nus jouent le chorus, créant une superbe cacophonie de sons cliquetants "chak-achak-achak" synchronisés, tout en ondulant leurs corps et en agitant leurs mains.

J'ai cédé à la tentation de publier assez rapidement cette photo que j'ai prise récemment en Normandie. Elle me plaît beaucoup. Je pense qu'il s'agit d'une de mes meilleures photos de paysage. J'ai bien d'autres photos prises plus tôt cette année (en particulier à Bali) à publier sur ce photoblog, mais cela va venir...bientôt.
Techniquement parlant, la photo a été prise environ 45 minutes après le coucher du soleil, en direction de l'ouest. Le boitier D300s était sur un trépied, muni de mon objectif Nikkor 12-24 f/4. Le temps de pose a été de 30 secondes avec une ouverture à f/22 et des iso à 160. Aucun filtre ni trucage particulier n'a été utilisé. J'ai juste fait quelques corrections dans Photoshop, comme enlever des petites tâches et ajuster le contraste, la lumière et la saturation. Et j'oubliais, le vent commençait vraiment à être froid et désagréable.

I surrendered to the temptation of posting quite rapidly this photo I took recently in Normandy. I like it very much. I think it is one of my best landscape shots.I still have other photos taken earlier this year (particularly in bali) waiting for being posted on this photoblog, but it will happen...soon.
Technically speaking, the photo was shot about 45 minutes after sunset, facing West. The D300s camera body was mounted on a tripod, with my Nikkor 12-24 f/4 lens. The shutter speed was 30 seconds with an aperture of f/22 and iso 160. No filter or speficic trick was used. I only did a few corrections in Photoshop like removing spots, ajusting contrast, light and saturation. Oh and I forgot to say that the wind began to be really cold and unpleasant.

This shot was taken from the top of the Batur volcano in Bali. I took it at 6:32 am but we had to get up at 3:00 am in order to climb and arrive at the top before the sunrise.
